Director's Corner
I hope everyone had an enjoyable and safe summer break. I want to welcome you to the start of the 2023-2024 school year! We are pleased to welcome new and returning families this school year.
We have completed our move into the new building, and we are all excited. Our new location is 81 Quicks Mills Road. Verona, VA 24482. We had a wonderful back-to-school event on August 7th, 2023 where our families were invited to comes see the new building and meet with teachers and staff.
We have added some great additions to our staff this year. Mrs. Shawna Smith will be our new Administrative Assistant (AA), Mrs. Jessica Heerschap will be our elementary teacher!!
The first day of school will be Wednesday, August 9, 2023. This school year, students and staff will be in the building Monday through Friday (5 days a week). Our school day starts at 8:15 a.m. and will end at 2:30 p.m.
As we embark on another school year, we ask that you continue to monitor your child for any cold, flu, Noravirus or Covid symptoms. If your child is displaying any symptoms, including a fever, please do not send them to school and notify us. Please help us keep our school and your families safe.
As we begin the new school year, we re-commit ourselves to the understanding that student learning is our top priority. Thank you in advance for all of the support that you demonstrate for your students and the entire KEYS ACADEMY-Augusta Staff.

For the 2023-24 school year, students and staff will be in the building for in-person learning Monday through Friday (5 days a week). Virtual learning is still available for students if needed due to quarantine or other health conditions. Our school day starts at 8:15 a.m. and ends at 2:30 p.m.
KEYS Academy-Augusta follows the Augusta County Public Schools guidance for inclement weather closings. If Augusta County Public schools close for weather related issues, then KEYS Academy-Augusta will also be closed.
